Neil and Ann Bauer - Wide Bay QLD
Hervey Bay residents Neil and Ann Bauer established their Ecowash Mobile Wide Bay franchise as they were interested in getting into small business. Before becoming an Ecowash Mobile franchisee, Neil was a sports store owner and manager of a cycling shop, and Ann was president of the Hervey Bay Triathlon Club. Neil and Ann are both triathletes and, as well as operating the Ecowash Mobile franchise, Neil coaches rugby union at Fraser Coast Anglican College while Ann teaches part time outdoor education.
Neil and Ann first saw Ecowash Mobile in a television segment on Sunday Franchising.
"What appealed to us about becoming franchisees was being outdoors as opposed to being stuck in an office," said Ann.
"It also appealed to us because of the no water concept. We saw it as a really good business opportunity, especially in this area, which is always having water restrictions. With my experience in managing a store, I thought Ecowash would be a great way for Ann and me to start our own small business," Neil said.
"The best things about being a franchisee are being your own boss, working outdoors and dealing with people who are professional. Directors Jim and Stewart go about things in a really professional way - even how they have set up the branding and colours of Ecowash Mobile," Ann said.
"Another great thing about Ecowash Mobile is the product range. That's what really sold us," said Neil.
"We get a really good support system from the directors and QLD master franchisees Brian and Nej who have been fantastic. They have really gone out of their way to help us," Ann said.
"The Directors are looking ahead to the future, which is good. That's another thing that has really impressed us about Ecowash Mobile. They are not just focusing on today but looking further down the track. It's especially important as the business keeps growing," said Neil.
